Who can Participate

Province wide, all permanent residents of Ontario who are 55 years of age or older by 12:00 midnight, December 31st of the current year are eligible to compete in the Ontario Senior Games. For the purpose of the “Wentworth Senior Games District 22”, an eligible representative of a district is a person who resides within the boundaries of the district as defined by the Ontario Senior Games Association.  PARTICIPANTS MAY TAKE PART IN EVENTS IN ONE DISTRICT ONLY.  “Out of District” seniors must sign a waiver form agreeing to play in one district, “Wentworth District # 22”.

The following persons may not participate in their specialized disciplines as sanctioned by the Ontario Senior Games Association:

  • Previous provincial individual or team winners or those who have participated in “Masters” competitions within the past two years.
  • Previous national individual or team winners within the past three years.
  • Provincial medal winners of “World Championships” within the past five years
  • Persons who have competed in a “World Championship Tournament” or in the championship division of a World Tournament within the past three years.
  • Provincial A, B, or C card holders as defined by Sport Canada and the Athlete Assistance Program of the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation within the past five years.
  • Horseshoes: Persons who competed during the past three years in a world championship Horseshoe Tournament, or in a Canadian or Provincial Sanctioned Horseshoe Tournament and whose resulting ringer percentage in that tournament was 75% or higher, may not participate in the “Ontario Senior Games Actifest Horseshoe Tournament.
