A volunteer Board of Directors governs FICS and a core group of volunteers work on a daily basis to provide vital information to the residents of Flamborough.

Volunteer Special Events

             Be a good neighbour! Volunteer Flamborough is looking for Snow Angels. You would be minimum 14 yrs of age and would be responsible for the removal of snow from a qualified recipient after a significant snow fall for the 2009/2010 winter months. This will help the senior and disabled to adhere to the City of Hamilton By-law stating the snow must be removed from the public walkway within 24 hrs of a significant snow fall.

            Homefront Cancer Services requires volunteers to wrap Christmas Gifts at Eastgate Square. Volunteers are required Nov 15th to Dec 24th for all mall hours including the two moonlight madness on Dec 11th and Dec 19th where the mall will be open till 11pm. You must be a team player and must be able to deal pleasantly with the public. Training is provided.

               Waterdown BIA Christmas Tree of Hope 2009 December 4th, needs a few strong volunteers to help set up and take apart the stage and equipment. Also looking for volunteers to help with refreshments and selling Santa lapel pins.( Proceeds from the pins go to CHML Childrens Wish Foundation)

           Carlisle Optimist are in need of volunteers for the Learn to Skate program on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5 pm - 7 pm at the Carlisle Arena. You would be assisting the Instructors with the students.This would be a great way to get your 40 hours of community service as it runs Oct. - Mar.

                

             Waterdown Girl Guides are in need of volunteers for all age brackets. The leaders should be 18 yrs or older. Contact Pam Richardson, Unit Administrator, Community 11 Direct Line: 905-547-4389 x3111   

            

                           Flamborough Information and Community Services is looking for volunteers to do grocery shopping for seniors and adults with a disability on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

 

         

                   

              Baby Therapy Program, School Sisters of Notre Dame is looking for mothers/fathers to volunteer with their babies in their Baby Therapy Program. Contact Julie Farnand 905-689-6344 ext 109

               

            RED CROSS OF WATERDOWN IS IN NEED OF DRIVERS TO TAKE SENIORS TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS.

    

               FRIENDS OF ALEXANDER PLACE is looking for 2 voting members to join their committee. Your objective would be to enrich the lives of the residents at Alexander Place and help with fundraising. Your commitment would be 5 -10 hrs per month depending on activities. Meetings are the first Monday of each month 6:30 pm.  Contact Caitlin McWilliams 905-689-2662 ext 213      

        

                   2 VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED                   

SAM PROGRAM is a day program for seniors and adults with diminished abilities and is in need of volunteers on Monday's or Thursday's for an hour or two in the morning or afternoon.
