FICS is a non profit charity that relies on funding through Grants, Foundations and Donations.

A volunteer Board of Directors governs FICS and a core group of volunteers work on a daily basis to provide vital information to the residents of Flamborough.

Volunteer Flamborough is closed as of Jun 29th at 4pm for the summer. We will reopen Sep 7th at 9am. See you then. Have a safe and happy summer.


Volunteer Special Events

        

           

         Waterdown Rotary is hosting Ribfest 2010 and is in need of 141 volunteers. The event takes place July 1st through to July 4th at Memorial Park. Various opportunities exist in the following areas.... Entrance Control, Wrist Band Sales, Beer Ticket Sales (must be Smart Serve Certified) Recycling, Parking Attendants, Transportation Coordinator, Day Security, Set-up and Take-down, Volunteer coordinator, Rotary Information Booth, and Contingency (float between various positions throughout the day). There are 4 shifts available per day over the 4 days. Adult and student volunteers are welcomed. You should be minimum 15 yrs old and able to work with little supervision once your task is explained. Go to www.ohcanadaribfest.ca and fill out form on the volunteer site or call Mr Bridge at 905-690-6331.

            Flamborough Information and Community Services is looking for volunteers for the "Sendial" program. You would do grocery shopping once a week and deliver to the recipient.( Police Check is required) Contact Shelley Scott 905-689-7880

                          

            Choices is in need of a Fundraising Committee Board Member for the Foundation.  

           RED CROSS OF WATERDOWN IS IN NEED OF DRIVERS TO TAKE SENIORS TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS.

          2 VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED                   

SAM PROGRAM is a day program for seniors and adults with diminished abilities and is in need of volunteers on Monday's or Thursday's for an hour or two in the morning or afternoon. This would be a great way to get your volunteer hours over the summer! Contact Shannon Walker 905-689-5244

         

       Waterdown Girl Guides are in need of volunteers for all age brackets. The leaders should be 18 yrs or older. Contact Pam Richardson, Unit Administrator, Community 11 Direct Line: 905-547-4389 x3111
