About CAP
CAP was a two-year project that had very specific goals to accomplish each year. We worked within the Flamborough community, schools, youth and businesses to address issues that YOU felt were important for our community as a whole. In partnership with police, CAP held community meetings to address crime and crime prevention as well as provide unique programs and solutions for the community. We worked with the business community to help them address issues and perceptions around crime and crime related issues. As a resident and business owner of Flamborough, we needed to work together to create a safe, caring and friendly community to live, work and play.
National Crime Strategy
The National Crime Strategy is a federally funded program that enables communities across Canada to develop grassroots activities and partnerships that will work towards preventing crime from happening.
The government recognizes that action must take place at the community level. It is the people who live work and play in the community who understand the area, resources, problems and unique needs of its residents who can plan proactive activities that will help reduce crime.
The Community Mobilization Program
Goals:
